The American Soldier Leaves Gift of Exhibit Walls for Memorial

This month, the Women's Memorial bids farewell to its popular and moving exhibit, "The American Soldier: A Photographic Tribute to Soldiers and Marines from the Civil War through the War in Iraq," which has been displayed since Memorial Day 2008. There's still time to see "The American Soldier" exhibit, on display through Sept. 8.

Not everything from the display is leaving next week, however. The large, moveable and removable walls created to display the exhibit's large photographs will remain at the Women's Memorial. Valued at an estimated $100,000, the walls are a generous donation from exhibition sponsor, EADS North America, and will greatly enhance the Memorial's ability to display exhibits in the future.
